On 1/4/2010, I contacted ANOTHER carrier. They quoted me $479 to go from Parsippany, New Jersey to Fort Myers Florida area. I was told by the other carrier that they felt confident that the car would be picked up within 48 hours.

Later in the week after receiving absolutely no bites on a carrier that would pick it up for $450 I decided to call Capitol Auto Transport. I spoke with Andy and explained to him my dilemma.

He looked up the record on the national database (apparently when you receive a quote from one broker, it is posted and other brokers can see it as well). He told me that he thought it was way under priced. He said if I am comfortable dealing with the other company that I should go back to them and suggest that they post the transport fee on the national trucker database to about $550 rather than $450. Additionally, he said that he did not wish to "steal business away from another broker because he said this is already a cutthroat industry"

So Andy gave me some extremely valuable advice and education, and did not even expect anything in return. Nor did he ever mention anything about me posting anything positive to him. Andy I believe is one of the owners and is a rare gem in today's society. He gave 20 minutes of his time and expected absolutely nothing in return. If I were starting the process all over again I would have absolutely no hesitation dealing with Capitol transport. If they are this honest with a customer that had gone to one of their competitors, imagine how honest they would be with you as their customer
