Capitol Auto Transport, and in particular, Mike Dakota pulled me out of a hopeless, 2-week ordeal with another broker, and provided honest, terrific service. After too many excuses from the first transport broker I dealt with, which I believed to be B.S., I called Mike for help. And BOY!, did he come through for me. After he checked "the board" for other vehicles available for transport, and their price quotes, Mike advised me that I might consider offering slightly more $ than his original quote, in order to be competitive, and look appealing to drivers looking for loads, again, based upon what he saw on the board. Mike was even kind enough to offer to take $50. from his normal commission, and apply it towards my payment. We agreed, and the rest was history.
Thomas, the driver from Ty's Transport, Inc. called me that afternoon to tell me that he would be loading my vehicle (pick-up) on his truck shortly. About an hour later, again, the same say as I had contacted Mike Dakota, I was notified that my vehicle was on it's way. Thomas kept me updated, and delivered my vehicle exactly when he said he would. He even told me before he got to my home that he had damaged the front bumper of my pick-up while loading it on trailer (due to the fact that that my truck sits so low in the front), and that I should deduct the full cost, including shipping and tax, from my payment to him. Frankly, I don't think I would have even noticed the damage (slight bend) if Thomas hadn't volunteered the information to me.
I'll tell you folks, I've learned that, IN MY OPINION the vehicle transport industry can be a minefield, full of lies and B.S.. I'm happy to say athat this is certainly NOT the case with Capitol Auto Transport, Mike Dakota, and Ty's Transport. These folks, IN MY OPINION represent the CREAM OF THE CROP. In this regard, again, I can't say enough good things about Mike Dakota there at Capitol. From the beginning of our first conversation, I felt strongly that he was honest, and that I could trust him. Sure turned out to be true. I will defintely use Capitol Auto Transport again, if I have the need.
Please note that I haven't checked off that the vehicle was damaged, for a few reasons. First, the damage was slight, and I wouldn't have even noticed it, had it not been forThomas' honesty. Second, as I stated earlier, Thomas not only told me of the damage, but told me to deduct the full cost of the replacement bumper from my payment to him. If my truck didn't sit so low in front, the damage wouldn't have happened. Lastly, it'll only take me about 15 minutes to change the bumper. So technically, yes, it was damaged, slightly. But, the way things played out, it's no big deal, and not really Thomas' fault.
