The most effective way to track your vehicle during transport is by having the driver's contact information. This allows you to text the driver directly for real-time updates and, in some cases, even receive exact GPS coordinates of their location.
From my 10 years of experience in the industry, I’ve found that drivers often prefer receiving text messages rather than phone calls for quick updates, as it allows them to respond when it’s safe and convenient.
Some transport companies offer tracking apps that provide approximate real-time locations. However, in practice, these apps are not always accurate. When I worked as a driver, I personally found that these apps often slowed down my phone and interfered with load management. As a result, I—and many others—chose to disable them.
