A Broker manages the cusotmer & market, while the carrier focuses on the pickup & delivery.

There are thousands of vehicle transport requests daily. They come in from various online vendors, direct calls, referral, etc. An auto transport brokers role is to sort thru those requests & confirm the details of the transport. A professional broker should qualify every customer they speak to to confirm the year/make/model, condition of the vehicle, the pickup & delivery location type, hours for pickup, if they want an open or enclosed transport & when the customer wants to schedule the service. T An important distiction is that brokers do not own the trucks, instead they vet carriers for proper licensing, insurance, safety and track records before assigning a load.

An auto transport carrier is the physical assest owner-operator trucking company & the driver.  They are responsible for having their company MC# active, insurance up to date, truck maintenance & safety checks, picking up & delivering on schedule, loading & unloading the vehicle at the location, completing the inspection with pictures for the bill of lading. They do not have the time daily to sort thru the thousands of customer requests to find the hand ful of vehicles that are on the  route they are on & available to pickup.
