This company was contracted through another, larger company Car-Go, through the internet. The larger company is based in AZ, and American Auto is based in Spokane, closer to my origination spot. Until they picked up the car, I didn't know the identity of this company. Car-go has led me to expect that delivery would be within 7-14 days. As time passed, I tried several times to contact the driver or the company, and they never responded to calls. Car-go managed to reach them, and told me that the truck had broken down, but that they would deliver within 4 more days. When they still did not deliver, I received more excuses. They finally delivered the car 23 days after pickup. During this time I had moved my residence to the destination site, started a new job, and I had to pay rental car charges. When the driver dropped off the car, he told us that there was no truck breakdown. Instead, they had held the car in Vancouver, WA for over two weeks, hoping to fill the truck with other cars. Of course, I had to pay the full transport price, at delivery, in cash, or I wouldn't be able to receive my car. After the fact, I have searched online for info about American Auto, and see that they have had complaints registered with the BBB of Washington State. I hope that others can learn from this bad experience of mine.
