Christine helped us ship a car from Illinois to Arizona, then from Arizona to Texas. She called right away after I filled out an online form, and was very helpful, patient, and friendly in helping me understand the whole process. We had a great first pick up, but when the driver got to AZ he demanded to drop the car off before the contract's agreed earliest date and threatened us to put it in storage. While my husband dealt with the driver on the phone, I called Amerifreight and got fast and great help (Amanda and Chantal). They contacted the carrier (the driver's actually company) who contacted the driver- this all in real time- and the driver shaped up right away and did what he was supposed to. The drop ended up working out great for us, and Amerifreight was perfect in dealing with the situation. This was also on a Saturday, when it's not always easy or possible to get hold of other brokers. Though I'd rather not have had to deal with the experience we had with the driver and the drop, I'm actually glad it happened because it gave me a chance to see Amerifreight in action when things weren't going well, and it showed me their friendly and superb customer service.
Our second shipment went by the book. The driver was a day early, but was very polite and said he would of course wait until the next day when we were scheduled if we would prefer. We were fine with having it picked up and delivered early, so we went with the early pickup. Delivery was easy and everything was as it should be.
I'll note that we did two blind drops- the drivers facetimed with us to show us the car and that he locked the keys in the car, texted us pictures, then we zelled the remaining payment to the carrier companies. (Note: We always zelle $10 first to get confirmation from new recipients that we have sent it to the right number!) I wouldn't assume you can zelle your payment, though; do check with the carrier first.
One note about the quotes vs. actual prices. Our first shipment we received a contract from a carrier something like a few weeks before the pickup date. This is pretty unusual, so don't expect it. The contract ended up being right around the quote from Amerifreight. For our second shipment, Christine thought we might get in the $700-$800s range. However, we were coming down to days before we needed to get it shipped with no offers yet, so I suggested/authorized her to bump up the range of our bid as it was more important for me to get the car shipped in a certain time window than to worry about the price. We ended up getting a contract for $1250, which was a bit painful :), but this was actually in line with what another broker had suggested. So I might just say that you might want to communicate with your representative what your desires are in terms of raising your bid so as to maybe get your contract picked up earlier. If we hadn't had a very strict time schedule, I would have been happy to wait longer for a lower bid, but we had to get the car out.
Overall, an awesome experience with Christine, Amanda, Chantal and Amerifreight. We are quite happy with our shipment experiences and would absolutely use Amerifrieght again.
