I was a complete newbie when it came to the car/vehicle transportation business. I spent several hours of online research and called several different Brokers. I even researched the pluses and minuses in regards to trying to identify and directly use a carrier versus going through a Broker to help facilitate the process and identify a carrier for me.
After determining it makes sense to rely upon someone within the industry to help me with this process I finally chose AmeriFreight. They had great ratings and feedback, and the people I spoke with (primarily Jorge) where very professional and there was no sense of pressure or a "sales-type" feel to the process. Jorge was great at walking me through the entire process and answering every single question I had (which were a lot). Obviously, you'll pay somewhat of a premium by using a Broker like AmeriFreight versus trying to find a carrier directly - but in my opinion it's money well spent to have the peace of mind and just rely on their expertise to identify a carrier; make sure that the carrier has a good reputation; and then assist with facilitating the entire process from pick-up to delivery.
I can't speak for other Brokers out there - but if I ever had to transport another vehicle I would call AmeriFreight again in a heart-beat. I highly recommend them. They helped make a stressful situation very seamless and worry-free.
