Beware of Deceptive Practices. ?I feel compelled to warn others about my troubling experience with Ameri Auto Transport LLC, a company that I believe employs questionable tactics that border on predatory and potentially illegal. Based in Casper, WY (USDOT #4108158 MC #1568537), they present themselves as a legitimate carrier, but my encounter suggests otherwise. Initially, Ameri Auto Transport quoted me a reasonable price ($750) to ship my car from California to Florida, which I accepted in good faith. However, on the pickup date, they claimed Delays and said instead I would pay a total of $1175 This sudden price hike felt like a calculated bait-and-switch—lure customers with a low offer, then exploit their urgency with unjustified fees. Left with few options, the experience reeks of bad faith. Such practices could violate the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, Section 5, which prohibits deceptive advertising—like quoting prices they don’t intend to honor. If this is a pattern, as some online complaints hint (e.g., Trustpilot mentions of price jumps from $600 to $1,500), it might also breach state laws like California’s Unfair Competition Law or Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. I’m seriously considering reporting them to the FTC, BBB, and state authorities for investigation. I’ll be documenting everything and sharing this on platforms like Transport Reviews and social media to protect others. Despite some positive reviews, my experience aligns with the minority who’ve called out shady behavior. Ameri Auto Transport LLC might not be an outright scam, but their actions feel exploitative. Proceed with caution—get quotes in writing and compare with established carriers. I regret trusting them and urge accountability for what seems like a deliberate scheme.
