We would like to explain how many stipulations this customer placed on this transport prior to cancelling her order. First, she was given an automated quote from our company back on 7-22-11. She called us one month later on 8-22-11 to finally place the order but only would do so if we honored the price given to her back in July. The rep warned her that if we placed her order at that price on Central Dispatch, there would be no guarantee a driver would accept that price since according to Central Dispatch; prices had already increased for her route of transport. She then placed so many stipulations on the transport; it made the order even more difficult. For one, she placed the order on 8-22-11 but would not let us pick up the vehicle until 8-26-11. Next, the vehicle would have to be picked up in from upstate NY and be delivered to a Red Roof Inn located at the San Antonio airport on Sept 9th. Not by Sept 9th but ONLY on Sept 9th. Not sooner and no later. We tried to explain to this customer that we are not operating a limousine company or a taxi service. We are working with truck drivers that are transporting 9 cars at one time from 9 different pick-up locations and dropping them off hundreds of miles away to 9 different destinations. For that reason, we cannot guarantee specific pick up or drop of dates. This is clearly written on both the agreement and terms that were signed by this customer. Even if we could meet this client's demands, she made no contingency plan for anything that could delay this transport like a mechanical breakdown of the truck or bad weather, etc. All she was concerned about was getting her vehicle delivered on a specific day so it did not disrupt her continued vacation travel to Mexico. By the way, she lives in upstate NY but could not imagine how the recent hurricane could affect travel in the North East. We believe most of our current and potential customers would understand that the safety of our carrier/drivers is far more important than a one day delivery window for an unreasonable person whose only concern was not to disrupt their continued vacation travel to Mexico.
