After a lengthy search and several near-sales/misses, I finally found a car just like the first one I had in high school ('68 Ford Torino GT). A 'virgin' in the land of auto-transport', I was lucky enough to have chosen All American Transport. Of the more than 10 quotes I received after purchasing a 'bid-letting' offer on the internet, their price was right in the middle, but also included concern and TRUTH in the deal. They 'shot from the hip' in their explanation that a 'low-ball offer' would result in like-service: my car might not be as appealing to the trucker when it came time to figure his route/load. Yes, I kicked in an additional $100 from the original bid, but it achieved the results I wanted as per my consultation with Byron Taplin.
I can't calculate the "internet odds" of doing all of this site unseen, including the car and having it all work-out. But I do feel very lucky in being able to drive this auto to my 40th class reunion in three weeks, and can't help but think I have All American to thank for a big part of this.
