We sent this customer a formal contract stating the payment options we have. We give a discounted price for cash payments and we charge a regular price for full payment via credit card. He filled out the order form and agreed to pay the higher price on his credit card. I do not understand why he is upset as he filled out the order form and agreed to this payment.
The delay was a direct result of the customer not adhering to our policy on fuel when vehicles are being shipped to Alaska. The prep sheet was included in our contract that was sent to the customer in advance of his placing the order. It clearly states that that the vehicle needs to have a 1/4 of a tank of gas and no more. When the vehicle arrived at the shipping company they informed us that it had to have gas siphoned out of the tank. This is an extra fee that we, the Broker, choose to pay in an effort to provide good customer service.
The customer was insistent that it was our fault as we had not informed him of our policy. After going over it 5 times and explaining the customer our position we had to inform him that we couldn't continue to discuss the matter with him anymore. He proceeded to harass us over the issue. We informed him that he could contact our owner by fax or email and he would get in touch with him. He did not appreciate that and began to yell and scream at us.
Surprisingly about 10 minutes after began harassing us, he called back in to say that he was sorry and that his wife had made a mistake on the fuel level as she had spoken to another company.
We at All America Auto find it odd that this customer choose to write a negative review when his vehicle was picked up within 1 day of placing the order in AZ and arrived in Alaska in 3 weeks.
