I selected Get-R-Done Transportation for an open carrier as they had great ratings, good insurance coverage, and were not the cheapest nor highest. I was told of a pick up date and that Alda Logistics would actually be hauling my 55 Chevy Truck. I looked Alda's ratings up and they were poor. I looked up BBB rating and it was an "F". I contacted Get-R-Done with my concerns and Dave called me to ease my concerns telling me they use Alda all the time without incidents and that for the actual freight company reviews, customers normally only write bad reviews or nothing at all. I was then told that my truck would be on an enclosed trailer so I was getting a great deal with protection from the elements. The thought of being enclosed and that Dave did not have issue in the past years with Alda made me feel comfortable to go ahead with them. The chevy truck was to be picked up no later than Tues in CA and it ended up being Thur at 11:30 at night. The truck was picked up by a one ton type car hauler and taken to a meeting place. So much for the enclosed. I contacted Get-R-Done and they said it is taken on an open trailer to be put on an enclosed nearby. Dave at Get-R-Done said he could see I was very concerned and asked if I would feel better if he contacted me each day to tell me the progress. Naturally I agreed. I had to leave messages for Dave to call me with daily updates over the hauling period. I was reminded several times that I should feel at ease as it's on an enclosed trailer. My truck shows up Monday in Arkansas on an open trailer... When I drove the truck away I quickly realized the truck was pulling all over the place. I contacted the seller and he said like he orignally told me in the weeks of long converations, pictures, videos, etc., that it wanders a little like old trucks do with power steering. As I was driving home I went across a double lane bridge with a large dip and the truck pulled into the other lane. Thank God there was no other cars around. I backed up into my garage and then seen that one of the leaf springs had busted thru the wood bed. Then, I discovered the leaf spring had a clamp one the springs to hide what had broke on them. I contacted Get-R-Done and they said to take it up with Alda Logistics. Alda only argued with me basically saying I could not prove anything. My seller said he would testify of the condition and with photos as it was a documented frame off restoration. I told Al at Alda I wanted $500 to pay just for my spring work knowing they did it as they hid it which caused more damage and could have cost me and other our lives. Guess their plan was to get all my money and by the time I would notice, they were long gone. Al was supposed to call me back after talking to the driver. I never heard from Al again. Please do not use Alda or be sold on what a good deal it is to use them from Get-R-Done. So much for Get-R-Done's insurance policy for damages. You will be sorry you ever used Alda like me and the others they have screwed.
