To answer this customer in the only language that he would understand, any charge that he paid was fully substantiated in the shipping order terms and conditions and signed for by the customer [fuel surcharge of $75.00, paragraph #3 of the terms and conditions.
It is funny that when the customer was signing the agreement there was never a question as to the $75.00, now when the car is getting ready to deliver the customer has a loss of memory and tries to blame us. This customer seems to tell lies one after another, we answer calls from 9am to 10pm eastern time 7 days a week,. Also when our driver called for the pickup he identified himself as a representative of Advance, so if the customer did not want to give us the car, he did not have to.
Unfortunately this customer lost his memory when he directed us to have the car picked up by flatbed and brought to a terminal, we informed him that the charge would be $100.00 and he can either pay it directly or we will pay it and it would be added to the cod, he said add it to the cod, now he has a memory blockage in that he does not remember telling us to have the car picked up. We also offered the customer a copy of the invoice for the pickup fee from the tow service, he said that he did not need it.
People like this probably try dupping companies like us time after time. This customer had indicated that if I did not take off the $100.00 charge there would be repercussions.
We do not nickel and dime anyone to death , we only want the customer what is due so that we can pay the trucker what he is asking for, a customer such as this is only for himself and could not care for anyone but himself.
