Terrible service

When originally seeking out a shipping company, A1 offered the best price and assured me of a timely and succesful transaction. Needless to say, they couldn't have done a worse job. I called them on Wednesday October 20, 2004 and told them the car would be ready to be shipped on Friday October 22. I also stated that I needed the car shipped ASAP. They told me it "should" be picked up by Sunday October 24. Well, today is November 17 and they have yet to pick it up. I finally sought another shipping company, and 4 days after talking to them they picked up my vehicle.

I contacted A1 to have my money refunded. They told me they would only refund a part of it; the part they are keeping is a service fee. How does continually assuring me that it will be picked up and a month later, the car is still in my driveway, mean they provided me a "service"? They also gave me the lame excuse that I should look at terms and conditions. When someone guarantees you they will pick the car up in no later than a week, and a month passes, I think it is pretty safe to say that they did not do their job. I called them 4 times to try and reach the manager. I was told she would return my call. Not once did that happen.

I'm sure my situation doesn't happen to everyone, but seriously weigh your options before choosing them. You can guaranatee it will take 2+ weeks to ship your car. If you can wait that long, go with A1. They'll tell you it'll take a few days, so multiply that by about 6 and that's how long it'll take.
