I booked with A1, as they were by far the cheapest I'd seen, and they seemed to not be a fly-by-night broker.
After booking, I read some of the lukewarm review here, but proceeded with mild trepidation. I delivered my car to the Lincoln, MA terminal, and left it on Monday Feb 7th, 2005. I called customer service, letting them know I dropped off, and they scheduled a truck 2 days later. This truck, however, was in Arizona.
10 days later (Friday, Feb 18, 2005), my car was finally picked up. After that, it made good time cross-country, and the tracking system on their site let me keep track of it.
My car arrived at the terminal on this end on the evening of Thursday, Feb 24, and I picked it up the next day. The car seems to have been well-treated, and only a little extra dirt was present.
I had to rent a car for a week, as well as deal with only 1 car on the other end, but the rental cost ($150) added to the shipping cost didn't even come close to the next-best quote.
I would use them again, although I'd try to get a truck scheduled *before* I dropped my car off, so I could keep it for a few more days on the other end.
