I purchased a car on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, got quotes to move the car from Texas to Oregon from a few of the higher rated companies from this site, as well as a company I had used before, and 1st choice was one of the lowest quotes I received! I enlisted them to have the car moved on Monday, the 7th. They informed me on Tues. the 8th, that they had found a carrier for the car (Gabriel Car Transportation), and that the car would be picked up on the same day, and delivered approx. on the 15th. The car was actually picked up the following morning, on Wednesday. On Sunday, the 13th, I got a call from Gabriel stating that the car would be delivered on Monday the 14th, around noon! The car was delivered in great shape. In summary, ordered on Monday, found carrier on Tues., picked up on Wed., delivered the following Monday! What more can I say about 1st choice! They were great.
The only improvement they could make is to the "tracking" tool. It's kind of a joke. Either make it better, or get rid of it! But no complaints from me!
That being said, I think that people need to realize that this is not the norm, and most people are not going to get their car delivered in 7 days, no matter what company they choose. The transporters have no control over things like weather, mechanical breakdowns, etc. And sometimes it takes awhile to find a carrier to move a vehicle. It's just the nature of the game. I think that a person should reasonably expect to allow 3-4 weeks from time of order, to receive a vehicle. And don't hesitate to use 1st choice!
