My family was relocating due to a change in employment and we felt that a 3000 mile drive in August would put undue stress on our cats. I began looking into shipping our cars by looking up companies on transportreviews.com which had good ratings. I called six different companies before one of them mentioned their high rating from the Better Business Bureau. After checking with the BBB, I found that over half of my calls had been to companies with ratings of C or lower. I then put together a list of companies with high ratings on transportreviews.com AND with a strong rating from the BBB. By chance, 1Flat-Rate was at the top of the list.

Ray explained how the process would work and indicated a price of $2000 for the two cars. He also said that if I called around, every other reputable company would give me the same information. I found this to be the case. I ultimately chose 1Flat-Rate over a very similar competitor because they do not ask for any money up front and make a very strong indication against the practice of taking a deposit. This was crucial for me; if my cars were not transported during the available window I would have needed to begin my road trip immediately.

My cars were available for transport beginning on Monday. On Wednesday I received a call from B&A Auto Transport to schedule a pickup for Thursday. Ray kept me posted with email updates. The driver from B&A also provided regular updates as to his progress toward our pickup and drop-off locations. The driver was excellent and ready to meet our specific scheduling and location needs. I appreciate that Ray allowed our contract to go to such a reputable company.

Also, we arranged with the driver to transport a load of personal belongings in each car with the understanding that these were not covered by any insurance and might be lost, damaged, or stolen during transit. We agreed to pay an additional $300 for this; it was worth every penny and all of our belongings arrived in excellent condition.

Working with 1Flat-Rate was an excellent experience. I plan to call them when I'm ready to return to Connecticut.
