My wife and I (and the seller too) were very happy with the service we received from Shipacardirect.com. We had just purchased a 1948 Ford Convertible and had it shipped from Upstate, New York to the DC suburbs of Maryland. The car was picked up on time and delivered on time and in perfect condition! The driver was very nice and called me to confirm delivery the day before and 20 minutes before he arrived. He was very careful with the car and even drove it onto our driveway for us! I have read some of the negative reviews on Yelp for Shipacardirect.com and would like to us my personal experience to address them. First and foremost CALL the company before you book. Yes, they are a shipping broker, but they are open and honest about that and that is not necessarily a bad thing. They have much more flexibility than an actual shipping company. If you call them and talk to them, they will explain to you the possible limitations and potential delays that may occur with your shipment, i.e., if you need an enclosed carrier for your car and either the pickup or the destination is not near regular trucking routes, it may take more time to find a qualified shipper to pick up your vehicle. Understanding that going in, you will not be upset or disappointed if it takes a little bit of time before your car is picked up. Also, Shipacardirect.com gives you a chance to look into the shipper they are planning on assigning for you and if you do not like or are concerned about the shipper, call Shipacardirect and they will find you another one. I looked into the company they booked for us and they were really highly rated, and it showed in my delivery. The driver who delivered our car (George) seems to be a specialist in picking up and delivering classic cars. He knew how to start and drive our car (three on the tree shifter) without a problem! One thing to keep in mind is that you are paying a fee to Shipacardirect for setting up your shipment and that is what is charged to your credit card at the time of shipping. The reaming balance, in our case $1000, was paid in cash to the driver. You will need to check with the actual shipping company on what they prefer cash or cashiers check. This is very common in the shipping business. Finally, and probably most importantly, for me, is that I had checked with all of the bigger car transport companies, Reliable (who I have used in the past and liked them), Horseless Carriage, and Passport; and NONE of them would do a pickup in the part of Upstate New York we were purchasing the car from. When I contacted Shipacardirect (as a recommendation from another carrier who would not pick up where we purchased the car), they did not hesitate for s second to take the business! In the end, my wife and I are very happy and would not hesitate in a second to work with Shipacardirect again! PS, Cheers to Matt! You did a great job!
